For Skatemap, I implemented a comprehensive redesign, further developing the platform both visually and technically. At its heart is an interactive map that allows users to quickly find skateparks and skate spots. Based on the Google Maps API, the map function enables users to discover existing spots and add their own skateparks and locations.
The platform was consistently tailored to the needs of the skate community. In addition to searching for and displaying various spots, users can rate and comment on individual locations and add their own photos and videos. This creates an interactive and continuously growing collection of skateparks and skate spots that not only provides information but also thrives on the knowledge and experience of the community.
The redesign focused on clear user navigation and a modern, responsive design. The interactive map forms the central element of the website, providing a quick overview of skateparks in the surrounding area. Supplementary information, ratings, comments, photos, and videos bring each spot to life. Skatemap combines map technology, community features and modern web design to create a practical platform for skateboarders.
